April 19th (6pm)- Storybook & Popcorn Night
Come enjoy popcorn and stories told by community members dressed up (firefighters, trashmen, police officers, ballet dancers, etc). Dress in your PJ, bring a blanket and enjoy the stories!
April 30th - May 11th: State Testing
Second through Fifth graders will spend these two weeks doing the annual state tests. Please make sure your student gets a good night sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and comes to school with a good attitude.
For all students who attend each day (on time) during the first week of testing, will receive an otter pop (courtesy PTA) on Friday afternoon (May 4th). For the second week of testing, students who attend each day (on time) will earn participation in a Fun Day (Monday, May 14th).
Saturday, May 5 (8-12 noon): Bijou's 3rd annual Community Service Day!
Assuming no snow, students, parents, teachers, and community members are welcome and encouraged to come join our community service day at Bijou. We will be doing a general cleanup, building an exercise circuit course (courtesy of grants from Barton Health Foundation, Echo Foundation, and our PTA), and doing other projects to beautify our school! May 14 - May 18: Staff Appreciation Week
Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to appreciate the teachers, aides, and other staff members at Bijou this week. Our Bijou staff is a wonderful group of adults who take care of our children, teach our children, and help them reach their full potential. Take a few minutes to help your child appreciate the adults who do so much for him/her this week! A little note or drawing from a student goes a long way in the heart of teacher!
Thursday, May 17th (3pm): PTA Meeting
Please come join us for our monthly PTA meeting in the Teacher's Lounge. We will be holding elections for PTA board members for the upcoming school year, discussing the annual Dinner and a Show, and getting an update about all the field trips PTA has funded this year. Join us and GET INVOLVED!!!!
May 24th (5:30 pm- 7 pm): OPEN HOUSE!
Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to see what your child has accomplished this year! Open House is a time to celebrate all the great activities and learning opportunities at our school. Bring your child and appreciate their success.
